This year, I started making my list backwards — thinking about where I wanted to go before what I wanted to own, what I'd want to carry with me on the way there, and what experiences I'm hoping to have in this next lap around the sun. So instead of a yacht or a new car for my birthday on AUGUST 10th, I'm asking for gifts that help me collect stories, travel well, and make everyday life a little more beautiful.
